EN After passing by Wroclaw`s newest restaurant a few times, I finally decided to go for dinner with my mom in "La Folie", previously known as "Blue Bar" at the famous Plac Solny. It lurks its customers with its exquisite european cuisine and an interesting, modern and cozy interior perfect either for a business lunch, having a chat with friends or romantic dinner with boyfriend/girlfriend.
EN For a long time I have been suffering from an ear infection, therefore I coudn`t listen to music on my Ipod. Since my work is just around the corner, my Ipod was also long time ago not "feeded" with new music. Music is like balm for the soul and you can instantly beam yourself into positive mood. From now on I'll post here at Red Chilli Lounge one of my favorite songs with my loyal readers - Let`s Begin!
EN Hummus or houmous is a Levantine food dip or spread made from cooked, mashed chickpeas blended with tahini, olive oil, lemon juice, salt and garlic As you can see, this snack is made very quickly and easily and the best of all- it is very healthy! I love avocados, so to spice up the usual snack, I added two of these fruits into the mixture. Hope you will love it as much as I do!
EN "Müller-Lüdenscheid: "If you let in the duck, I let out the water."
Klöbner: "These are probably the extortionist methods of your gangster company."
Müller-Lüdenscheid: "Doctor Klöbner!"
Klöbner: "Mr. Müller-Lüdenscheidt!"
Müller-Lüdenscheid: "An Academic you want to be? Ha. "
Klöbner: "So, what now?"
Müller-Lüdenscheid: "I let out the water if you let in the duck."
Klöbner: "I let in my duck."
EN This is a cheesecake combo you have to try! Raspberries and cheesecake are my favourite combination of a sweet treat- perfect in size! The crunchy butter cookies base topped with a silky smooth and deliciously creamy cheesecake filling decorated either with hearts or circles of pure raspberry sauce- tastes amazing! Try these and you’ll understand why I’m completely in love with cheesecake.
EN Magda Gessler, one of Poland`s most famous foodies, claims "Restauracja Patio" being one of 100 best restaurants in whole Poland. Curious as I am, my boyfriend and me wanted to get to the bottom of it. He booked a romantic candle light dinner the other day to savour the exquisite cuisine. As soon as we walked in, we knew we are in the right place: One of my favourite art master pieces by Gustav Klimt hang on the wall and a red- golden interior creating a very welcoming and cozy atmosphere.
EN Between 14 - 16.11. 2014 in Wroclaw Centennial Hall will be held the first edition of gaming Hall of Games 2014. The event will focus the major producers and distributors of games, hardware and accessories related to the wider gaming industry. Hall of Games three days of presentations, workshops, games and tournaments, as well as the region's largest gathering of fans of board games. We are facing many attractions - the panels with the best players and game designers, Cosplay - a great costume contest for developers manga characters, anime and video games, demos trailers and much, much more.
EN There are days where you incredibly crave for something sweet- sometimes more, sometimes less. Let it be a simple chocolate bar, or a bite of the delicate, fluffy macaron LaDuree- literally everybody is a little sweet tooth! In my case, I can`t eat too many of them (avoid the thought of my job) or too sweet stuff like nutella or a whole chocolate bar. Usually I take a "Kabanosek" to free my gustatory tract from the sugary taste. In this case, I present you a great mixture of sweet and fruity- the original Dutch baby, a pancake topped with bananas, grapes, mint leaves, lemon and orange wedges- for me the perfect combination!
EN Once again, the trip went to Krakow: My boyfriend`s brother finished his medical studies and we were invited to his graduation ceremony. You don`t need to tell us twice, so we immediately grabbed our suitcase and went with Polskibus from Wroclaw to Krakow! After 3 hours of driving we were already at the destination. We resided in Appartment Nobel Suites, where each apartment was named in honor of a Nobel Prize winner. The location of our new home for three days was very central and only a stone's throw away from the station. It was very nicely decorated and was kept very spacious and bright for two people.
EN You must know- I was never a fan of fish, but as one day I was asked by my boyfriend Michael to try out Sushi with him, I begin to love it! My mom came after her Japan trip to Poland to visit me, so I decided to go with her and Michael to Sushi Corner claimed by many customers for being the No. 1 Sushi Place in Wroclaw. That fact got my attention, so I reserved a table and was curious to proof it right.
EN This friday is the night of all night: Halloween! I already wrote you about its origins in last year`s post (here). I still don`t know what my costume will be- either geisha or will it be a creepy stiched doll? We shall see...To get you some ideas for your Halloween costume, I summed up some of my favourite costumes including videos showing their correct procedure, whereas the last videos by Lex are on a advanced level where you can show off your artistic skills- she`s extremly talented using her own face and body as her canvas.
EN Wroclaw celebrates again the European Glass Festival - no wonder it got its title of city of culture 2016. In this year's main exhibition, "Animal Planet", organized once again in Wroclaw`s Central Station (Dworzec Główny PKP) will show the work of 18 artists from 14 countries in Europe working in different artistic techniques that use glass in their work. The festival encounts 54 glass objects scattered around whole Wroclaw, where you can participate in tour guides and search for the items.
EN Healthy breakfast is the non plus ultra to start the day effectively. Usually when you eat a sandwich (or at least in my case) I get hungry really soon. After around 30 min, my stomach growls and I hear from my collegues "Hey, didn`t you have breakfast today?". But in case of eating such a muesli, you are sated at least for 2-3 hours. So what do you need for this healthy snack?
EN Cracow (Krakow) is the third largest city in poland- and truly one the most beautiful polish cities. It is quite a shame that I`ve visited it for the first time just last year. But, hey, what can I do when my family lives in Wroclaw and me, originally coming from Hamburg, loving to travel, rather prefer to visit warm countries in holiday season like Spain or Italy, than Poland. But after my experience with Wroclaw, with whom I truely fell in love with and spend my 6 years there- I can say: Poland always in my heart.
EN A new place has opened and it is definetely one of its kind: In this Cafe you may choose between fresh brewed coffe, fluffy home-made cupcakes, finger food, or apple pie, read a book, play games, and the only thing you pay for is the time you have spent in that venue- Brilliant! Definetely there is a rule: You have to be at least 15 min there, but killing time will be one of your least problems due to a variety of activities offered at Panato.
EN Hello, my dear readers! Yes, it was some weeks ago when I was actually in Gdansk and took a small trip to Hel, Poland. While looking outside the window now it is the complete opposite of what you will see on the following pictures right from the beach! I never have been to a polish beach before, usually traveling to spain or to an further island to enjoy the sea and white beaches- but that`s exactly what one can enjoy here at Hel, too. Besides suntanning, you also get a perfect opportunity to wakeboard or to sail.
EN The workplace can be stylish on many ways where you productively put your ideas to paper. Simple design, natural wood and a comfortable chair make up the work area. I'm a big fan of the iconic Eames chairs, where functionality, design and comfort is combined. The couple Ray and Charles Eames designed some of the most famous Bauhaus furniture of the 20th century, such as the Lounge Chair & Ottoman, office chairs, armchairs and tables. Their life's work influenced until today the modern design.
EN You should know, I am not keen on eating fish, but as my boyfriend spontaneously asked me out to eat sushi with him and I had my first bite: I was totally into it! I love the combination of sweet fruites like mango, honey melon or let it be fried cucumber, carrots, pineapple, white reddish, together with fried fish and sushi rice.
EN Do you remember Cafe Monsieur on Wiezienna Street? Sadly it is gone, but instead of the mustache, a brand new venue is waiting for you and achieved already No. 8 out of 20 on the list of Ale Lokale. - This truely sounds promising! It is only a stone`s throw away from where I live, so I decided to try their delicious tapas together with my boyfriend. Le Chef has a industrial interior mixing warm wood furniture together with the rather cold appearing white brick walls.
EN It is unbelievable how many awesome things one can find in H&M! I think I slighty underestimated this swedish brand, as a matter of fact that they produce nice basics, and if you were on a search for something special you usually prefer Zara, Mango or Massimo Dutti. But as it seems I was wrong. Have you ever heard about H&M Trend? Well, as you see here I present you my lovely dress from this section, which really attracted a lot of attention while I was walking by. Since I have been busy the last months with studying, I had only the possibilty to shop online.
Gdansk, the long market
Having a photo taken with Neptune is the duty of every tourist in Gdansk. This characteristic statue having his trident was designed by Peter Husen. Today the Neptune Fountain is one of the most important landmarks of the city, chosen by tourists as a meeting point and the object of photo sessions. Although the fountain´s origins are directly connected to the merchant and burgher history of the city, it was nevertheless accepted by the communist authorities and became a symbol of the city.
EN Hello my dear readers!
I`ve been travelling around for a while through Poland and soon everything will be documented on Red Chilli Lounge - don`t you worry about that! Concerning the Outfit: I combined grey jeans a la Kate Moss (yes, I definetely needed this colour in my closet and found the perfect fit in H&M) together with this artistic, wide blouse. The colours grey, black and turqouise look amazing to the new bought Slim Fit. I added the geometrically shaped bag (H&M), which you already know from "Baby Blue Dream", and the most comfortable boots in the world (already seen in my older post "Summer in the city"). This blouse from Zara had to be in my hands and reminded me from another brilliant purchase - the top with pineapple print worn together with hotpants.
What do you think about this look? I hope you like it as much as I do. Enjoy your sunday!
EN It is so astonishing how everything looks much prettier, warmer during summer days. My first trip to Łódź was in cold February month, where it greeted me instantly with an under construction sign on their usually prettiest street called Piotrkowska. Now many months later, I could see the urban city life in its full blossom: Piotrkowska street with its hollywood street walk enumerating its famous stars like Beata Tyszkiewicz (actually my mom was named after her) and Roman Polanski.
OFF Piotrkowska with its charming cafes by day, and turning into an alternative, off-beat area by night, where you could enjoy a fresh sandwich at midnight. The biggest shopping mall in whole Poland called Manufaktura attracted not only young & old to do their latest shopping trips, but also offers them a small "beach" with day beds and cold mojitos aside.
This city is definetely worth a visit, so mark it on your travelling list!
EN Isn`t it a relief if you have a (parents-) house with large garden? As soon as the sun casts its warm light rays back on humanity, really everyone slips out of his/hers hiding place. Either you learn outside while the birds humming around, or bouncing around in a hammock while reading your latest favorite book, or you take pictures for your blog. In Wroclaw I have my own nest right in the center, but unfortunately without a balcony, on which you could do a BBQ party. I better not complain, since it is sufficient to escape from the apartment and sit down in the local park not far away minding one`s one business.
EN September has brought us as the end of August much rain, but we should not always put this negative thoughts in connection with the bad weather. It is time that the Germans stop nagging - whether in the restaurant where you wait a little longer for the ordered food or at the airport, the delay of the flight is announced: Time is too precious to waste it on nagging and sullenness! I would say you should emphasize the positive aspects of a rainy day and grab the opportunity with both hands. In the sunshine outside activities are the main attraction, while during rainy weather rather staying at home is in the foreground. Then again it is finally time to read the book you always wanted to read, listening to music, just stay in bed and chill. I made you a book list and it goes as follows:
EN Soon Red Chilli Lounge celebrates its Annual birthday and perfectly fitting to such an occasion I received some amazing news: I was nominated for the Liebster Award by Lotte from fashion-verlottert that enchants with everyday chic, beauty tips and beautiful, poetic lines as matter for reflection. I highly support this action, because in this way also smaller blogs get the chance to achieve their proper attention. The following questions were asked:
EN Hello there, it's still August and what do I see when looking out of the window? Damp weather :P It can not be true that 3 weeks ago we had up to 27° degrees, pure sun and blue sky. Must we give a kiss goodbye to the lovely warm weather and choose thick, cozy wool coats over light summerdresses? I personally cannot endure the heat (above 30 ° C), but I have a few tricks I`ve already shared with you in an earlier post "Keep your cool" - a little guide how to overcome 30° in the shadows. Maybe I will lurk the summer back with this look: Zebra dress by Zara, along with a statement necklace (Pull & Bear) and sandals in Aztec-look (Zara). What do you think, oh, dear weathergod?
EN Isn`t it wonderful when you can buy yourself necklaces at a bargain price in Bijou Brigitte?
This wonderful, elegant crystal necklace (reduced to 5 €!) looks very similar to that precious jewelry I`ve seen once in Vogue magazine. First it fits perfectly to my beige summer dress or maybe to one of my favourite marine looks? Another new thing, which I want to share with you today is that brown, shimmering necklace, very well for everyday use or even combined together with an oversized sweater, or to the airy transparent white blouse decorated with small ribbons (Mango). Furthermore, I really love my new orange braclet from H & M - Doesn`t it look similar to the one from Hermes? Since I prefer wearing green and brown colors during chilli autumn time, I am delighted to have found this cozy scarf with leopard print.
The last new-ins I granted myself some weeks ago when I was exceptionally shopping in Centro in Oberhausen: A Bershka a denim dress for a whopping € 12.99 plus a chain a la Africa-style.
EN I'm at my parents home right now, because I am preparing myself for my statesexam. Here you can learn well all by yourself, either inside or outside in the large garden (which you probably already have seen in the post "The white stripes"). I must confess: I am a big city girl! Big city life, noise, fancy restaurants, trendy bars, alternative corners, indie festivals and wild nights. Anywho concering studying I prefer more the calm countryside, where you can relax, most of all, have the possibility to concentrate much better- no distractions in terms of "what are the latest bars / coffe places, restaurants?" and write a review about them. No, at the moment I need to pull myself together and set my focus totally on dentistry. Just for once.
What are you? More a city child or rather a hayseed? ;) Tell me!
EN Who has recently watched "Shopping Queen" on VOX? An eye for style, color and materials, eloquent and amusing- this is germany`s fashiondesigner Guido Maria Kretschmer! Armed with a cup of coffee and plum- or rhubarb cake I turn on his famous TV show in Germany. The theme was recently "Over the roofs of Munich- present a style for a Rooftop Party" - I'm not from Munich, but still the theme can be put into action. If you attend a glamourous Rooftop Party one present herself in an elegant way, flirting around and get to know knew people- wouldn`t be green sequined perfect for such an occasion? A pair of black ankle boots, a black, oblong shoulder bag and a black necklace- and the look for your night is done!
Hello my lovelies!
The striped blazer was a kind of love at first sight: I've seen him in Zara and I knew immediately - That is the one! Without him, I won`t leave the store. It was precisely Zara Sale or better Zale - time, so I had to strike without causing harm to my wallet. To complete the look, I decided to wear my favourite white dress, an orange clutch and high-heeled sandals - et voila: an elegant maritim tinged look- I hope you like it! The photoshoot took place in my parents' garden, which is nourished and cherished every day by dear mommy.
In the middle stands a hammock for some chillout time. Behind the camera was again my boyfriend whom I will see again in 3 weeks. Thanks to skype, whatsapp and facebook we are managing the time being apart from each other.
For today I say goodbye and wish you a great start into the new week!
Hello my lovelies!
Does any of you has seen all Star Wars movies (6 of them)? Yes, my friend really made me watch them in their chronological appearance, so episode 4, 5, 6, inter alia, with Harrison Ford; and then episode 1, 2, 3, with Natalie Portman, Hayden Christiansen, Ewan McGregor.
Chiara Ferragni aka The Blonde Salad - surely everyone has heard her name, because she has already achieved that what many young bloggers are dreaming of: Monetizing the blog, having already more than 50,000 Facebook followers, posing for major brands such as Gucci, traveling around the world and now recently, being the face for Redken hair care. In fact, she impresses with her expressive style - from simple, cool, casual to elegant, sexy and seductive.
This time, I chose one of my favourite dresses in my favourite color: a flower-printed one combined with a belt to emphasize my waist wearing together with my black, most comfy sandals to get to know every corner of Rome ;)
Romulus is given the credit for founding Ancient Rome – so legend has it. Children in Roman schools were taught the story and it became almost set in stone.
What is legend of Romulus and Remus?
In fact, I'm already the 3rd time in Rome: The first time was with my high school class, (short and strenuous), then on a vacation with my parents, where we were sightseeing until my feet were sore and this time I visited rome with my boyfriend where we just did the most important sights and then most of the time just chilled. I must confess that my favourite trip was the last one, right in the romantic neighborhood of Trastevere. We had every day two or three must-to-do's, as you can see below e.g. the Vatican Museum, and then we went back into our charming apartment, after a short fresh-up we went out again for some cacio e pepe in the moonlight with a glass of wine: What`s more to be desired? :)
EN A design apartment was the home for my boyfriend and me for exactly 7 days. It was in the charming neighborhood called Trastevere right within the quirling life with wonderful restaurants, cafes and bars. It was near the Tiber Island, where you could enjoy some nightlife between the Romans. Either you had the option to dance to music which you may heard in those classic italian Hollywood movies, or you could enjoy white wine on a white soft sofa. There was also a bar nearby, where while drinking mojitos one could sit on steps between all the colorful pillows and listen to the rock background music. I had truely no expectations regarding the nightlife in Rome, but it is truely a must to stroll through the following streets in Trastevere regarding the crowd of people, hip bars like "Pimm`s Good": vicolo del Cinque und via della Scala.
We are the champions!!!
This is Germany's fourth World Cup victory, having won last in 1990, and previously in 1974 and 1954.
Hello my friends!
Here I present you one of my favorite outfits: Bright, colorful, candy-like;) The first part was shot in Wroclaw, where the latter has been in Rome, in Villa Borghese, to be more accurate. I must say that I love Italy- here one can learn more about the roman history and on the other hand you have awesome sunny weather and the food. Cacio e pepe is a typical roman speciality which is simply tagliatelle with cheese Cacio garnished with pepper. Simple, but truly a great pleasure! I have just returned from Rome and already miss their delicious, homemade pasta. I've been thinking to buy a machiene to make pasta on my own! I'll keep you up to date!
In keeping with the World Cup, I present you the Brazilian speciality called "Brigadeiros", the chocolate pralinees. They are easy to make, very delicious and you can even try different variations: The traditional way is to decorate them with chcocolate sprinkles, but I ran out of them quickly, so I had to dip the rest in almonds. What seemed to be out need, turned out into a masterpiece!
EN Many cafes such as Franz Kawka Cafee can be found here in Wroclaw, where you can comfortably enjoy a coffee break with friends or sit in their summer gardens in the evening while drinking housewine with the loved ones at a romantic candlelight. But where is here the possibility for a young mother to feast with the child? This is exactly what the freshbaked mother asked herself (now the owner of Piekna Helena = the beautiful Helene) and decided quickly to take it into her own hands. Thus arose a new place where young parents with their kids can feel like home. Large space is here available where without difficulty fits in a stroller; a separate room, where the kids can let off steam, while the mother can also take a brief pause, a changing room, where the mother may breastfeed, inter alia, numerous mother-daughter events are offered as well as musical events. The owner herself had named the cafe after her more than one year old daughter. and also after the famous Offenbach's operetta "Beautiful Helen" to highlight its musical character. As for the name, it is also a must to try the dessert with the exact name. In addition to the homemade cakes other special dishes will be offered, inter alia, for pregnant women and nursing mothers, and children's meals.
1) Jumpsuit (similar here) / 2) Sneakers (here) / 3) Hat (here) / 4) Bag (here)
EN It was really hot the last few days here in Wroclaw - up to 35 degrees! Already in the previous post "Keep your cool!" I introduced to you a few tricks for pleasant cooling, but you should also keep in mind the following: At such temperatures, unfortunately I can not wear maxi dresses, it must be light and definetely airy. So it is good with my new acquisition: a baby blue jumpsuit combined with a black fringed necklace. On my head a cool hat that I bought in Portugal, Algarve, plus white sneakers and a black bag - you're done.
Concerning the color, I must confess that I love baby blue. First my blue eyes clearly stand out and on the other hand, this color was a kind of talisman- What does mom always say? Keep wearing your baby blue scarf by Hermes on the oral exams ;) Now I can confirm- I have passed all exams during my studies.
EN Hallelujah, the festival season has already begun (Sonar 2014 in Barcelona) and my friend & I have already bought the Juicy Beats tickets for the 26.07 in the lovely "Ruhrpott" - we simply can`t wait! It's a great festival with several stages, which are assigned to each fruit. This time on the MainStage, inter alia, BOYS NOIZE, MILKY CHANCE FRITTENBUDE, WEEKEND, Egotronic; On the "Raspberry stage" we will welcome, inter alia, CALEXICO, FM BELFAST, and on the "pineapple -stage" will play the famous group from Hamburg: HUNDREDS,
The Juicy Beats Festival is already a fixed instance among german festivallovers. More and more visitors are enjoying the annual, usual colorful party right within the Dortmund Westphalia Park.
How to survive 31 ° in the shade? For me, those are unpleasant temperatures, since I can neither learn nor do other productive things-I sweat like crazy and would love to spend the whole time in the pool ;) How is it in your case?
Anyways, today I present you my three effective tips "to Keep your cool"!
EN Hello my dear readers!
Today I present you my green variation of a spring outfit: the top and skirt with a floral pattern are from Zara, while the Plateau Sandals from Vagabond ("Florence"). Green is the color of spring, although one could already think about summer here concerning the extreme temperatures. As I was walking around with my friend Valeria through Wroclaw, we got lost in the vicinity of the National Museum, and even were fooling around-These figures remind me strongly of Picasso, one of my favorite artists. Green is the color of hope and it always fits brunettes perfectly, especially women with ombre hair. Yellow goes great along with green, that`s why my choice fell on those pretty long earrings by Zara.
"You're ugly " , "Great artificial tanning ", " Not everyone can be described as a Blogger "
Hurtful words .Mean words. Words that are tossed at people , whom you've never met in reality. But why?
Many advise to look the otherway on cyberbullying - ignore it . But how long can you endure these painful words?
Gorgeous weather- 30 ° degree of pure sunshine! How can anybody possibly study then? So I jumped in my new outfit and went on a search of beautiful spots in Breslau/ Wroclaw. Let it be the turquoise bridge, which is equipped with plenty of the famous "Love locks" or in the vicinity of the cathedral, where my parents gave each other the vows - There are definitely plenty of many wonderful places here and the result I present now here: a Zara look consisting of a light blouse with trendy pineapple print and cool ripped shorts, plus the comfortable Wojas Boots. Well, how do you like my look?
I was glad to have taken part in a meeting with design and art during the second edition of the International Festival of Good Projects – WROCLOVE DESIGN 2014 which was held on 14-18 May. Wroclove Design is the very first event in Wroclaw and in Lower Silesia which presents design and art on the European scale. This Festival combined the worlds of design, architecture, art and business. Plenty of exhibitions, workshops, meetings and lectures were included in the schedule.
