Who Was Andy Warhol?
Andy Warhol was one of the most important artists of pop art, which became extremely popular in the second half of the twentieth century. Everybody knows his paintings like for example the Campbell's soup cans, Marylin Monroe`s many colorful portraits and The famous Velvet Underground Banana Album Cover.
Some of you may already know Paolo Corso, a Wrocław Expat from Italy. He recently opened a fabulous new Italian Wine Bar on Szewska Street (19-21a) which serves the best of Italian wine and appetisers. Paolo invited his dear music lovers to his wine bar last Saturday at 8pm for an evening of Jazz music courtesy of Zuzanna Mizgalska.
Szewska street is quickly becoming one of the most diverse spots on Wroclaw's culinary map. Besides swanky wine bars such OK and Corso, there's the sweet toothed Muffinaria, and the terrific pizzeria Piec Na Szewskiej. The latest addition to this eclectic street's line up is Rockburger, one of many burger bars to open up in recent months. With so much competition in this area though, does this new venue stand out from the crowd?
Wroclaw stands out with its vivid scene surpising its inhabitants and numerous tourists with its ever-changing flair. While being on a search for new culinary enlightenments, one can succeed in the quirky area around Szewska street nearby the neversleeping Rynek. On the junction of Szewska and Kotlarska, passing by a kiosk right within the bright yellow building, well- hidden in a small corner, houses the new place called Zupa lurking the Wroclawians with delightful, selfmade soups. Will this offbeat venue have a chance of survival within competetive Rockburger, classy Giselle and sophisticated Corso Restaurant?
Right in this artistic restaurant called "Brasserie27" in Wroclaw in Europeum Hotel, I decided to celebrate together with a bunch of friends my birthday. Between cozy, warm athmosphere, artistic interior held in beige-brown colours, kind waitresses and delicious food, my guests and me had a great timehere - it literally flew away!
Happy New Year 2014!!!
