EN Hello my lovelies,

when you are in Belem, you should definetely visit the famous cafe selling "Pasteis de Belem", but you should be careful: In June / July is high season, meaning many tourists are marching towards this place. You will wait forever in a queue and either get the opportunity to eat the pasteis quickly in an overcrowded room, while the annoying looks of the waiting company will not leave you alone, or decide for a "take away" and enjoy the Portuguese specialty in the nearest park. To be honest, the pasteis de nata of Mantaneigra, which were around the corner of our apartmenten in Bairro Alto, were much more delicious than those in Belem. They were still served warm, a short queue, and you should definitively sprinkle them with cinnamon for the perfect enjoyment.

There was a long queue to the Mosteiro dos Jeronimos. Michael had a brilliant idea: Beside the monastery was the archeology museum and exactly there you could get the tickets for our tourist attraction and could therefore skip comfortably the long queue. Also very recommendable was the museum complex in Belem. My favorite was the contemporary art museum with many fascinating installations. :)

Wenn man Ihr in Belem angekommen seid, kann man die berühmten "Pasteis de Belem" probieren- kann man, muss man aber nicht. Im Juni/Juli ist touri-hochsaison, dh. man wartet ewig in einer Warteschlange und bekommt entweder die Möglichkeit in einem überfüllten Raum die Pasteis in Hektik zu essen, während nervige Blicke der Wartenden Gesellschaft dich nicht in Ruhe lassen, oder man nimmt sie als Take-Away und genießt die portugiesische Spezialität im nächstgelegenen Park. Ehrlich gesagt haben mir die Pasteis de Nata von Mantaneigra, die bei uns im Bairro Alto um die Ecke waren, viel mehr gemundet als die in Belem. Sie wurden immer warm serviert, kurze Warteschlange, und man sollte sie definitiv mit Zimt bestreuen für den vollkommenen Genuß!

Ebenfalls waren wir vor der ewigen Warteschlange vor Mosteiro dos Jeronimos erschlagen worden, da hatte Michael eine brennende Idee ("Hört, hört!"): Neben diesem Kloster befindet sich das Archäologie Museum und genau dort konnte man sich die Tickets für die ebengenannte Attraktion ergattern und bequem die lange Warteschlange überspringen. Ebenfalls sehr empfehlenswert war der Museumskomplex in Belem. Mein Liebling war das contemporary art museum mit vielen fasziniereden Installationen.
